St Francis of Assisi PS worked in partnership with ‘Muthi Tidda’ (Jessica Clarke) to create an Indigenous artistic representation of our school's learning dispositions. These dispositions describe how we are successful learners: Collaboration, Striving for Mastery, Creativity, Self-Directed learner, and Courage.

Collaboration

  • Kangaroos are social animals and live in groups called mobs

They encourage us to work together, to communicate well and to put our trust in one another

    Together we are stronger

Striving for Mastery

  • Turtles enjoy travelling long distances and exploring new things along the way

They encourage us to be open minded and question new things that we are unsure about

Creativity

  • Wombats use their wide imaginations to create extensive networks of tunnels for their homes

Wombats adjust well to change and give us the ability to see and overcome any obstacles that come our way

Courageous

  • The Wedge-tailed Eagle is a guiding light that will help lead you on your way to new opportunities

Turn to the Wedge-tailed Eagle when you are taking a risk; as they will provide you with the courage you need in order to be able to face your fears

Bunjil is the creator spirit of the Wurundjeri

Self-Directed

  • The platypus reminds us that at times we need to be and work alone in order to develop our own skills as a learner

Independent moments refresh our minds and allow us to have a clearer mind when facing new challenges
