Submit a complaint

St Francis of Assisi Primary School values and encourages open and positive relationships with our school community. We understand that a trusting relationship between families and our school is in the best interests of students.

Positive, clear, and effective procedures for resolving complaints between the school and community members can help build strong relationships, dispel anxiety, and ultimately provide students with a settled and happy learning environment.

This form allows students, parents and other community members to share concerns and should be used in conjunction with our Complaints Handling Policy and procedures.

Where do I start?

Where appropriate and in the first instance, concerns or queries should be raised with a student’s homegroup teacher or other relevant member staff.

If a concern is unable to be resolved informally, a complaint may then be raised with the Year Level Leader or a Dupty Principal. The office staff can help you to find the correct leader.

A complaint can be made to the principal in person, over the phone or via this form.

Where a complaint is received, St Francis of Assisi Primary School will ensure that the staff member managing the complaint is someone other than the subject of the complaint.

How are complaints managed?

Complaints will be taken seriously and responded to in a timely manner.

St Francis of Assisi Primary School will handle personal, sensitive and health information in accordance with the school’s Privacy Policy, MACS requirements for recordkeeping, retention and disposal, and requirements under the Child Information Sharing Scheme and the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme.

Privacy laws may prohibit information being provided to the complainant about any specific action taken in relation to individuals about whom a complaint has been raised.

St Francis of Assisi Primary School will ensure that it will create, maintain, and dispose of records relevant to child safety and wellbeing in accordance with the policies and procedures for recordkeeping in MACS schools.
